Some Wisdom
I am reading a playwright called Pirandello (Ramon should know who I am talking about), and am finding him pretty fascinating. Here is a nice quote I found very exciting and pertinent to life in general, and to our blog in particular. Don't go too anal about it, just some food for thought (and encouragement for reading Pirandello!). Also, if either Andreas Bakkerud and/or Kip Sumner reads this, be this quote grounds for rapprochement!
"For me drama exists in one thing-the knowledge that each of us believes himself to be a single individual. But it's not true. Each of us is many individuals, many-each of us has many possibilities of being. We are one thig for this person, and another for that, and each of them is quite different. Yet we suffer under the illusion that we are the same person for everyone. But it's not true. Not true. We percieve this-perhaps tragically-when we suddenly find ourselves caught in mid-act. And realize that not every possibility in us was involved in that act. It would be an atrocious injustice to be judged by that act alone-to be held responsible to it throughout eternity-to be pillored- as if all of our existence had been summed up-in that one act."

Damn, do we have a Wise Hungarian Sage in making here?? :) Good work, I am proud of you!!
HIGHLY INTERESTING APPROACH TO LIFE!!
it´s easy to identify a great truth in that quote. unluckily the philosophies about life one might follow,as truthfull and legit they all are, can´t work as an excuse when the time comes to assume responsibility for one´s actions before the other "pluraly selfed individuals".
All those circumstantial alter-or-same me´s are enclosed in one only self.
what really varies is the attitude towards different situations. this, when looked from the outside, depicts our personality.
and here comes the maxim: personality it is not character!! and character is more deeply rooted into "one self" than mere actions(which appears to be the "justification" for that "plurality of being"). those different "us" pirandelli talks about appear to me as distinct types of manifestation or reponse of our character before different situations.
but hey!! i just finished three cups of cofee so i might be highly intoxicated and it´s not me, if not the caffeine speaking!! haaha
such a long time without the possibility of getting high vomiting thoughts like that!!
takk lazlo, and very nice quote by the way!!
ALE
Aaaaaa! Bazmeg, I hate you! I am also reading Pirandello and I found him fascinating... Even have a book of his plays in original language yet, for the time being, cannot manage without glancing at english translation. Anyhow, now it feels as if my happiness which appeared after discovering this great italian drama ranovator is broken into pieces since you were the first one to mention it! Damn, who could ever think... Zzzzzz... Otherwise, I am doing great! Thank you guys for the greetings on my birthday.
