I wish the word "like", used to substitute other words with actual meaning (and hence the degree of thinking requied to construct concise, coherent sentences), were eradicated from the English language.
Students of America, which word do you dream of mysteriously disappearing overnight?

ha, never talked to sanna from finland when you were in the college? otherwise, I think Edu wants AWESOME to disappear
Though not currently a student of America, I'll add my choice: Obsidian. People use it whenever they can't think of a proper, more semantically correct word. Gosh! (Add: "Stuff")
And another thing, how come it is some times not grammatically incorrect to use 'were' as past tense for the third person singular? Reference: "I wish the word like [...] WERE eradicated" or "if it were up to me". Is it just a mass lapse in grammar, or wtf? Eddie?
It is convention to use were instead of was; but was is also technically correct. (i.e. I wish it were/was).
Is succintness also a lacking of the Americans, or is it just Honduran?
Un beso
